Rosie Vela

Today I have decide to go deep in the old stuff that is inside one of my various storage box all around my very, very busy apartment… in the box of music tapes I have find a recording of "Zazu" an incredible album out, I think, in the last months of 1986, and performed by a former topmodel Rosie Vela.
This fantastic album was produced by Mr. Donald Fagen of Steely Dan, and this made Zazu a must for me.
I have try to search on the bay a copy of this album... but I have find only few vinyl's… uhmmm... I think it's time to buy a turntable again, it seems that this need becomes necessary day by day cause I have discovered also few interesting vinyl's in my stuff… one is very special and rare: a 7" single from the movie soundtrack "Bright Lights, Big City" performed by Mr. Donald Fagen and the title is "Century's End" never released, I think, on CD.
By the way, make a search and try to listen "Magic Smile" from Zazu, and tell me what do you think about it.

Zazu was actually produced by Steely Dan-proiducer Gary Katz, but both Donald Fagen and Walter Becker play on the album.

Century's End was relesed on a 3-track CD-single, on the Steely Dan compilation Gold Extended, on the Bright Lights, Big City soundtrack CD and most recently on Donald Fagen's Nightfly Trilogy box set.

I do wish that Rosie would get a new album out. Zazu was/is really promising. How about a remixed re-release of the CD? All the used CD copies sold on the Internet are EXPENSIVE!

Neb, thanks for the information provide... you right, the eBay price for the Rosie Vela are very high! The last one sold was about 40€!
Also thanks for correct me about the production of the album… i was sure the production was from Donald Fagen...! About a new release I reallyhope about it, but I'm not so sure… I think the album don't sell well at the times, so maybe they are not interested to release it again :(

Zen, thanks for the post.
I love Walter Backer also, of course, and I will buy ASAP his new release., Right now , I'm listenting the "Android Warehouse" double CD and there's a fine tune sing by Mr. Becker: "Mock Turtle Song"… a very fine example of Mr. Becker high profile.
